We proudly produce quality Australian made products and supplement this range with quality imported bedding products. Established in 1996, Slumbercare Bedding has supplied quality mattresses and bedding products at sensible prices to South East Australian retailers, building on our founder’s bedding industry experience since 1964.

Our history

The beginnings

Company history

Our founder began working in the bedding industry in 1964. Slumbercare Bedding was established in 1996 as a bedding manufacturer, building on that experience. A lot has changed since then, but we are proud of our beginnings and how far we have come.

1964

Greg enters the bedding industry

1964 is the year Greg, Slumbercare founder, commenced in the bedding industry.

1992

Second generation joins

The second generation of the family entered the bedding industry.

1996

Slumbercare Bedding begins

Slumbercare Bedding officially started in 1996 in Cheltenham, solidifying the family's 32 years industry experience.

1998

New brand — Therapedic

Signing the Therapedic licence for Victoria and Tasmania set Slumbercare on the path of a long-term relationship, extended in 2001 and 2011 to ACT, NSW and South Australia.

1999

New brand — Sleep Australasia

The brainchild of Slumbercare Bedding, Sleep Australasia was the first of our own brands and the most successful and long standing.

2000

Expansion

Growth drove the need to move to larger premises. In April 2000, Slumbercare Bedding moved to Oakleigh South, Victoria.

2005

Manufacturing in China

Work on an import programme since 2000 came to fruition in 2005, when Slumbercare entered a business partnership to manufacture in Guangzhou, China.

2013

Expansion to new premises

Further growth and the need for updated facilities compelled a move to larger premises. In August 2013, Slumbercare Bedding moved to its current location in Braeside, Victoria.

2017

Expanded the manufacturing capacity

Investment at the Braeside facility expanded our manufacturing capacity, so we can supply more retailers with the same attention to quality.

2024

Now with over 300 retail locations globally

Slumbercare products are now stocked in over 300 retail locations, supported by the same friendly, professional service our retail partners have relied on since 1964.

2026

New brand — Mammoth Comfort

UK's most trusted science-based mattress is now available and manufactured in Australia.
